to tell the world that God exists.
He is the fullness of life,
and to enjoy this
fullness and peace,
you must return
to God."

aquarelles of the place of the first apparition of Mary,
on June 24th, 1981,
on the mount Crnica, now called Apparition Hill. These aquarelles show what the Apparition Hill looked like in the first two years, when the apparitions had just started.
Medjugorje is a town located in western Herzegovina, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, around 25 km southwest of Mostar close to the border of Croatia. Today the town is best known due to reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is now visited by pilgrims from around the entire world as a shrine. The name Medjugorje literally means an "area between mountains".
Bosnia and Herzegovina, an independent country in of the former Yougoslavia, bordered by Croatia to the north, west and south, Serbia to the east, and Montenegro to the south, Bosnia and Herzegovina is almost landlocked, except for 26 kilometres of the Adriatic Sea coastline. Home to Muslims, Protestants, Catholics, Jews and the Eastern Orthodox church for centuries, Bosnia and Herzegovina is a melting pot of traditions. Its geography ranges from mountainous in the center and south to hilly in the northwest and flat in the northeast. It is rare that a region offers such diverse beauty and harmony. Its limestone mountains, valleys, centuries-old forests, crystal-clear rivers, and green mountain lakes are of astonishing beauty.
